HIGH OF MY WEEK: I might have a sleep over with my friend that lives in Mt. Vernon on the weekend!
LOW: I have to draw 2 big maps and 1 little map of Washington state for social studies by December 3rd!
QUESTION: If there are so many hungry people in the world, why doesn't the government do more about it? Also, if people keep telling me to make the most out of my day and do the most I can with it, then why are we in school for 8 hours a day?!?!
GOAL: My goal for the week is to find a soup kitchen and take my girl scout troop there to help!

I think that the government does not act apoun this crisis because they are too caught up in their own little world i.e. "wallstreet". are you Chloe going to do any thing about it because I will help you :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you and martha if you two are going to do somthing you can count me in!! Cloe I loved girl scouts but I stopped I'm so glad that you continued. I love that you want to go to a soup kitchen and help. Your question is inspiring. The government says that they will "help" us in a time of need. So far the ruinned our econnomy!! What would happen if kids ran the country?
ReplyDeleteI think that it's just that what they are doing is having no effect. They probably are trying but their plans just aren't working. Maybe over time their plans will start to take affect.
ReplyDeleteI think our government is not helping the hungry people because most of those people are in poor places like Africa. Because these places are outside of the United States our government really can not do all that much about it. As far as the people in the U.S.A who are hungry go, the government should focus on it! I think the economy is important to deal with, but the things that really hurt people like poverty should be taken care of also. Another thing the government may want to look into is global warming because eventually that will hurt everyone in the world. Also that awesome you are still in girl scouts. I was also a girl scout for a really long time, but both troops I was in didn't work out. I wish my troop did stuff like going to soup kitchens.
ReplyDeleteChloe -- this goal is excellent! Come talk to me before or after class, and I can help you find a great soup kitchen in Seattle! Check out the Union Gospel Mission, or the Bread of Life Mission in Seattle.
ReplyDeleteI think the government is spending all of its money on a piontless war, when it could be helping thousands of starving, innocent people. so sad!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of helping at a soup kitchen! that is so cool!!!!!
